The 2nd season of PSL 2017 is currently under way in Dubai and Sharjah as this glamorous cricket tournament is started from 9th February 2017 and continues till 7th March 2017, whereas the Final match of this event will be held in Lahore, Pakistan.

As per the rules of PSL 2017, the top 4 teams in group rankings will meet each other in the semi-finals of PSL 2017 and still the situation is not clear as some of the group stage matches are left and their results will impact on the confirmation of semi-finalist teams of this event.

The five emerging clubs of PSL 2017 are scheduled to play 8 group stage match against their fellow teams and two points on each victory are awarded to the winning side. In case two teams have equal points than net run rate plays crucial role in team standings. Currently, Quetta Gladiators are placed on top position in group standings and this team have booked their berth in the semi-finals of PSL 2017, as the counter side have played total 6 matches and managed to win 4 of them while defeated in 1 match.

Lahore Qalandars are shifted to 2nd place in group standings of PSL 2017 and their up-gradation is happened due to their strong run rate, whereas Qalandars are appeared in 6 matches and won 3 of them while lost 3 group round matches of PSL 2017. The defending champions Islamabad United are positioned on 3rd place in team standings and their low run rate pushed them on this rank, whereas their winning stats are equal to Qalandars, as they have won 3 and lost 3 matches out of 6 matches of PSL 2017.

Peshawar Zalmi with victory in 2 matches out of 6 are placed on 4th position in group standings and their survival in PSL 2017 looks in danger as they 2 group stage matches are left and they required victory in both these matches in order to make their access into the semi-finals of PSL 2017.

Karachi Kings are placed on last place in group rankings as their victory stats are quite disappointing, the counter side have won only 2 matches out of 6 and lost their 4 crucial matches. Their net run rate is also very down but still hopes for them as still 2 matches are left for them and victory in those matches will help them to build up their status in semi-finals of PSL 2017.
